Gernot has a particular interest in the relationship between Christianity and major world religions, and in the relevance of faith to a variety of everyday issues and questions.

He studied international economic relations and worked for several years as a financial controller for an international company. He then went on to study at the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics (OCCA) and at Wycliffe Hall, University of Oxford, obtaining a certificate in theological studies.
