Pablo Martinez Vila
In addition to his clinical practice, he does extensive work in Europe as a lecturer and advisor. He has been a guest speaker in more than 30 countries on topics of his speciality, highlighting his contributions to the relationship between mind and faith, the psychology of religious experience, grief, conflict relationships, the therapeutic value of forgiveness and others.
Closely linked to the student work, he was president of the Grupos Bíblicos Universitarios (GBU) of Spain (1979-1987). President of the Alianza Evangélica Española (1999-2009), he is currently a member of the Sociopolitical Commission of the European Evangelical Alliance. The international dimension of his work was recognized by the International Christian Medical Association (ICMDA), which elected him as one of its vice-presidents for 8 years (1998-2006).
He has developed an intense teaching work in the field of Pastoral Theology in various theological institutions in Spain and Europe. At the personal invitation of renowned theologian and writer John Stott, he served on the Founding Board of the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity, where he has also taught courses on Pastoral Psychology. This teaching work now continues through the European Forum of Christian Leaders, where he directs the counselling section (Christian Counsellors Network).
