Barry Z. Posner is an American academic and leadership expert. He is currently the Michael J. Accolti Professor of Leadership at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business, where he was also the dean for 12 years.

Posner earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a master's degree in Public Administration from The Ohio State University, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Administrative Theory from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

He has received numerous awards and recognition for his work in the field of leadership, and has authored over 100 research articles and collaborated with well-known companies such as Apple, Amazon, and Trader Joe's.
